At Oak & Gable Designs, we believe good design begins with well-resolved, buildable plans. We combine practical experience with considered design to create spaces that feel timeless, refined and are carefully resolved for construction.
Founded by Kaitlyn Dunst, Oak & Gable is driven by a passion for building design — from custom house plans, alterations & additions to dual occupancies, multidwelling developments and small scale commercial projects and council approvals.
We guide our clients through a streamlined process, balancing form, function and budget while navigating regulatory requirements and builder collaboration. Throughout, our focus is on clarity, livability and long-term value.

Home design should be an exciting journey, but the sheer number of choices can feel overwhelming. My role is to provide a clear roadmap, guiding you seamlessly through the design and building process.
What I enjoy most about design is the opportunity to dream and then bring that vision into existence — from early concepts, through clear planning and detail, right up to builder-ready documentation and build.
About Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn grew up in Tamworth, where her father, Robert Dunst, was always creating and building. His passion for art, building and problem-solving shaped her appreciation for how spaces influence the way we feel.
She studied a Bachelor of Design (Architecture) at the University of Newcastle, where her interest deepened. Following graduation, she became a Director within her family building firm, spending nine years working closely with builders, trades, engineers and suppliers across a diverse range of projects.

During this time, Kaitlyn supported projects from early ideas and quoting through to approvals, selections and builder-ready documentation — gaining a practical, end-to-end understanding of the design and construction process.
Kaitlyn now leads Oak & Gable Designs as an accredited Low Rise Building Designer. She brings a considered, grounded approach to her work, creating well-balanced spaces that are both thoughtful and buildable, across homes, multi-dwelling developments and small-scale commercial projects.
